Carob Tree Restaurant

The new Carob Tree restaurant in Swains Lane offers a modern take on traditional Greek favourites. You order a selection of small dishes to share - they suggest five items for two people. It seems a good arrangement for a a quick informal evening out or a full meal.

The atmosphere is informal and the staff are friendly. A little more expensive the Mozart but still reasonable enough to pop in with friends whenever you don't have the time or energy to cook.

They have done a great job refurbishing the drab Duke of St Albans to create a modern and friendly design. You can just see the kitchen, where fresh ingredients are cooked on real charcoal. The result is tasty with an authentic Mediterranean flavour.

The owners, Louiz and Stephen, have plenty of experience running restaurants ... and it shows. I expect it to be a winner.
