The annual Festival on Pond Square is Highgate's most popular event and this year will see many new stands, a new line up on the main stage plus lots of family fun throughout the day.
Organised by the Highgate Society and the HLSI there will be live entertainment on the central stage, lots of fun for kids and families, many new stands and our first spit roast!
Highgate still has reason to think of itself as a village ... and this is our village summer fete. Attractions include:"
Covering the basic elements of drawing: anatomy and proportion, weight and mass, tone and line. We will also explore a more subjective approach to the figure.

Please come along to the meeting of the Highgate Safer Neighbourhood Team at 7pm in the Highgate Newton Community Centre.
It is a forum for local residents to meet the local police and Safer Neighbourhoods Team as well as some members of the local Panel. It is a chance for residents to express their views &concerns, get information and become involved to whatever extent you wish.
The provisional Kenwood Concert programme for 2008 has now been announced.
BRIAN WILSON - Legendary musician Brian Wilson, founder of the Beach Boys, inventor of the California sound and one of the most influential pop music composers of all time, will open the 2008 concert season at Kenwood House. Choosing from his remarkable song catalogue, Brian and his formidable ten-piece band will perform a number of classic compositions as well as a collection of The Beach Boys greatest hits.
RUFUS WAINWRIGHT - Referred to by Elton John as “the greatest songwriter on the planet” and by NME as “the only living song writing genius”, Rufus Wainwright has established himself as one of the great male vocalists and songwriters of his generation. This will be a rare opportunity to see and hear him as a solo performer.
KENWOOD SUMMER PROM - The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Ben Pope, presents the Kenwood Summer Prom. The programme will include well-known overtures and symphonic pieces by Mozart, Rossini, Wagner and Elgar, as well as Gershwin’s dazzling Rhapsody in Blue, played by award-winning international pianist Viv McLean. The evening will culminate with the musical dramatics of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.
OMARA PORTUONDO - Direct from Havana, Cuba, international star of The Buena Vista Social Club, returns to Kenwood for an extraordinary and vibrant evening of the very best of traditional and contemporary Cuban music.
MICHAEL BALL & LESLEY GARRETT - two of Britain’s best-loved singers in this extraordinary double-bill. West End and Broadway musical legend Michael Ball is joined by the UK’s most popular soprano, Lesley Garrett for an evening of your favourite songs and arias.
DIANA KRALL - Canadian born singer/pianist Diana Krall mixes her cool and expressive vocals with sensitive, soulful piano, drawing on a deep well from America’s Jazz and Pop traditions.
VAN MORRISON - Grammy Award winning musician Van Morrison brings his distinctive mix of jazz and blues, together with the Celtic influences of his Northern Irish roots to Kenwood House. With time-honoured classic songs such as Brown Eyed Girl, Days Like These and Have I Told You Lately.
LAST NIGHT OF THE KENWOOD PROMS - The ultimate Last Night of the Proms concert, featuring operatic superstar Katherine Jenkins with special guests Blake. A true celebration of Britishness.
